Hey, it’s Jeff here again. Good to see you!

In the previous video, I talked about different types of valuable content you could create for your business. I also talked about how valuable content helps you create the audience to whom you can promote your products and services. In case you didn’t see that video, I’ve included the link here.

Now, the question I want to answer in this video is how do you use your content to get new leads or subscribers? What irresistible content can you offer to your visitors in exchange for their contact information?

I’m going to share with you eight types of content you can use to generate leads. The one thing they have in common is that they deliver value instantly… So let’s get started!

Types of Content to Generate Leads

The first type I want to tell you about is “a report.” A report is an educational piece of information, generally in written form, but you could report in video as well. Your visitors get info about a specific topic that interests them.

Generally, reports are detailed on one topic. Sometimes you can even have a report about a product or service that your business offers in order to provide helpful information about that product or service, or about something related to that product or service.

Whoever wants this report will have to enter their contact information, or at least their email address, in exchange for the free report. Because reports are based on a single topic it means you can offer more than one report. Some of your audience may be interested in one while others are interested in something else.

The second type is “a white paper.” These are similar to reports. White papers are most often used in corporate environments that sell B2B or business to business.

The white paper is created to help your prospects make an informed buying decision. Again, access to the white paper is only available after providing their email address. White papers can also be focused on a single topic allowing you to have several different white papers to appeal to different parts of your audience.

Third, up next, we have “a cheat sheet.” As you might guess, cheat sheets provide instructions or answers to typical customer questions.

Sometimes these may be about a specific product or service you offer. Sometimes they may be step-by-step guides and have similarities to the “the list” which I brought up in the previous video. But unlike “the list,” which you would make as publicly available content, your cheat sheet has more value, so it is only available in exchange for contact information.

Deliver Information to Attract Subscribers

Fourth is “the mind map”. This is another interesting way to deliver information to attract subscribers. A mind map is a diagram that represents related tasks, or words, concepts, or images and arranges them in a non-linear graphical layout.

Mind maps can turn lists of what some may see as potentially boring information into well-organized, colorful, and even memorable information.

The fifth type of content is “webinars”. Webinars drive leads and attract subscribers as well. A webinar is often some type of valuable training that your audience would like to explore, perhaps a deep dive into some topic.

Webinars give you the opportunity to build stronger relationships with your audience because they are giving their time to spend with you, and you get to showcase your expertise. Webinars are commonly 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and some may even go for several hours.

Of course, to get access to the webinar, those who are interested must register in advance so you get contact information this way.

Create Good Will

Next up is type number six… “templates”. If you can provide free templates related to your business, you can create good will because you save your audience time. Examples can include document templates, PowerPoint templates, image editing templates, even website templates or social media templates.

Irresistible content number seven is “the swipe file”. A swipe file is often a collection of writing examples that can be used as a model to create new works. For example, if I had a collection of effective social media posts that get lots of likes, would you want it?

Other examples could include effective headlines, sales emails, landing pages, or even blog posts. If you have something that works, someone will give you their contact information to get a copy.

And, finally, irresistible content type number eight… It’s “a tool” of some kind. Sometimes an effective tool is an app that someone can use to help them obtain a certain result. At other times, an effective tool can be a type of test where the users enter data, and the tool helps determine the type of product or service that will best fit their needs.

In some cases, those who sign up get access to the tool for unlimited use. In other cases, the tool itself is available to everyone, but you only provide the results after they provide their email address. The idea with this type of tool is if someone has already taken the time to enter the data, they want the answer. They don’t want to have wasted their time up front.

Frankly, I do not like tools that work this way. I find the practice is deceptive unless it sets proper expectations up front. I don’t want to get to the end of a 5‑page questionnaire only to then discover I have to enter my email address to get the answer.

Overall

So these are the 8 types of content you can use right now to get more of your ideal customers to identify themselves while also getting them more engaged with you and your business. I’m sure you noticed that for each type of content, it’s important you get contact information before your prospects get access. So how do you do that? I will get into some of those details next time. If that video is already published, you’ll find a link below.

If you don’t see the link below, then subscribe to my channel so you’ll see when the new video is available. Actually, subscribe even if you see the link, that way you’ll get faster access to all my new videos. Please comment below if you have successfully used any of these contact types to generate leads. Or have you used something I didn’t talk about today?

Your business deserves to be seen online, and I will help you get there.

Thanks for watching and have a great day!
